Job Description

As a jewellery Quality Control (QC) professional, your role involves inspecting jewelry to ensure it meets company and industry standards. Your key responsibilities include: - Performing Inspections: Conducting detailed quality checks on finished jewelry pieces to ensure they meet design specifications and quality benchmarks. - Identifying & Documenting Defects: Using magnification tools and industry-standard instruments to identify and document any defects or inconsistencies, such as loose stones or improper settings. - Collaborating with Production: Working closely with production and design teams to address and resolve identified quality issues, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. - Maintaining Records: Keeping detailed records of quality control checks, findings, and defect reports for internal reference and audit purposes. - Improving Processes: Contributing to the continuous improvement of quality control processes and developing preventive actions to reduce defects. - Ensuring Compliance: Making sure that products comply with internal standards and industry regulations, including proper hallmarking and material purity. Required Skills & Qualifications: - Jewelry Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of jewelry materials like gold, diamonds, and gemstones, their properties, and common defects. - Technical Proficiency: Ability to use tools like loupes, magnification tools, and potentially x-ray fluorescence (XRF) machines for material analysis. - Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail to identify even minor flaws in design and execution. - Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze quality data, identify root causes of defects, and develop effective solutions. - Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with production teams, designers, and other stakeholders. - Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities to manage documentation, maintain records, and support quality management systems. In practice, your typical duties may include: - Checking if stones are securely set and correctly placed. - Inspecting castings for flaws like porosity, blisters, and cracks. - Verifying the aesthetic appeal and functional utility of the jewelry. - Ensuring consistent color and clarity of gemstones and diamonds. - Confirming that chains are free from kinks and their clasps are functional. - Assessing the precision of chains and jump rings, ensuring they are properly aligned.,
