As a Mainframes SQM Infrastructure Engineer, you play a critical role in ensuring the quality of infrastructure-related changes and projects, such as PTFs, upgrades, integrations, and emergency fixes. Your responsibilities include coordinating infrastructure testing activities, analyzing schedules, and resolving infrastructure-related issues. You will be accountable for infrastructure testing by coordinating and executing testing activities for changes and projects. It is essential to maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts, analyze test results, and identify potential issues. Collaboration with development and operations teams is crucial to resolve defects and enhance test coverage. In terms of Incident Management, you will respond to and resolve infrastructure-related incidents promptly and effectively. Conducting root cause analysis to prevent future incidents is also a key aspect of this role. Identifying opportunities to automate testing processes and enhance efficiency is part of your responsibility for Process Improvement. Implementing best practices for infrastructure testing and quality assurance is essential to ensure optimal performance. Collaboration is vital as you work closely with infrastructure, application, and operations teams to ensure the smooth delivery of projects and changes. Additionally, working with business stakeholders to comprehend their requirements and fulfill them is crucial. Required Skills And Experience: - Strong understanding of z/OS operating system, TSO, ISPF, JCL, JES2/JES3, and other mainframe technologies. - Experience with mainframe database systems such as DB2, IMS, and networking concepts. - Knowledge of ITIL processes and tools like ServiceNow. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Skills: - Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Puppet. - Knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure. - Experience with Agile methodologies like Scrum, Kanban.
