Job Title Business Development Executive Intro We’re looking for someone who is strategic, client-focused, and technically conversant. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, and engaging with stakeholders at all levels. To join our India team to lead and support business development initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region. This role is ideal for someone passionate about climate resilience, catastrophe risk, and innovative solutions in flood modelling. You will work closely with technical teams and global clients to identify opportunities, build relationships, and grow JBA’s presence in the region. Your Role In any given week, you may be engaging with clients, attending industry events, preparing proposals, and collaborating with internal teams to align commercial strategy with technical delivery. You will play a key role in expanding JBA’s footprint in insurance, reinsurance, government, and consultancy sectors. This position involves working closely with colleagues across JBA Group, including model development and consultancy teams, to ensure our solutions meet client needs and market demands. Key Responsibilities Identify and pursue new business opportunities in India and the wider Asia-Pacific region. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders. Collaborate with technical teams to tailor solutions and proposals for clients. Represent JBA at conferences, webinars, and industry forums. Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and marketing materials. Track market trends and competitor activity to inform strategy. Support contract negotiations and onboarding of new clients. Interpret and communicate results from NAT CAT models, especially flood risk outputs, to non-technical stakeholders. Understand and articulate the use of flood data in underwriting and risk selection processes within the re/insurance industry. Essential Undergraduate degree in Business, Environmental Science, Geography, or related discipline. Strong interest in climate risk, catastrophe modelling, or environmental resilience. Experience working with or interpreting NAT CAT model results, especially flood risk data. Understanding of how flood data and model outputs are used in underwriting and risk assessment in the re/insurance industry. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships. Experience in preparing proposals and presentations. Organised and proactive with strong time management skills. Familiarity with CRM tools and Microsoft Office 365 suite. Desirable Postgraduate degree in a relevant field. Prior experience in business development or client-facing roles in insurance, reinsurance, or environmental consultancy. Understanding of CAT modelling platforms and outputs. Experience working in international or cross-cultural environments. Multilingual skills (especially in regional languages) are a plus. Training and support will be provided where necessary. Job description Job title Senior Catastrophe Risk Analyst/ Principal Analyst Intro We are seeking a highly skilled individual, specializing in flood model development and implementation in re/insurance sector, to join us and support the delivery of flood risk solutions within our Asia-Pacific team. The candidate will be responsible for data and model development as well as validation of our probabilistic flood models. Your role In any given week you may be working on a range of client projects in addition to product development within the company. You will be working closely with colleagues in a variety of teams across the company including those in product development and Analytics. You will shape and deliver models that help re/insurers understand and manage flood risk, while also contributing to business development through client engagement. The role sits within the JBA Risk Management India office and requires a candidate with strong technical skills capable of multi-tasking time sensitive projects in any given week. Work can involve a mix of data analysis, statistics, GIS, hydrology, hydraulic modelling and technical writing as the candidate provides dedicated support to consultancy projects in areas including (but not limited to) flood risk assessments and catastrophe modelling. The team member we’re looking for Interactions with JBA’s global client base takes place on a daily basis and the candidate will be expected to present technical work. As our work involves managing multiple project deadlines, this position will suit someone who picks up new skills quickly, is enthusiastic, organised, and a strong team player. Essential Technical Skills Postgraduate degree in either Hydrology, Hydraulics, Hydroinformatics, Meteorology, Earth Sciences, or a similar field. Strong background and experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling. Proven skills in GIS platforms (e.g. QGIS, ArcGIS). Experience validating flood hazard and loss models. · Proficient in Python/R and Linux command line scripting. Familiarity with AI/ML methods as applied to weather and climate data. Experienced user of MS Office 365 suite of tools (e.g. Excel, Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, OneNote, Teams). Essential Behavioural Skills · Professional manner with strong interpersonal skills, demonstrable ability to interact with colleagues across a wide range of seniority and knowledge. · Demonstrable ability to understand and communicate technical concepts in person and in writing. Strong time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks. Ability to distinguish important from unimportant details and work in a focussed manner. Experience of teamwork/collaborative environments both in person and via collaboration technologies. Desirable PhD degree in a related discipline. Knowledge of probability theory and statistics.
