Key Responsibilities – Project Manager (Construction Industry) Project Planning & Scheduling Prepare detailed project execution schedules using project management tools. Define project scope, milestones, deliverables, timelines, and resource allocation. Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants for input in schedule planning. Monitor progress against the schedule and adjust timelines as required. Budgeting & Cost Control Prepare and manage project budgets in coordination with the finance and procurement teams. Track and control costs to ensure the project remains within budget. Approve vendor and subcontractor bills in line with progress and contracts. Team Coordination & Leadership Lead site and office teams including engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors. Assign tasks, monitor work progress, and ensure accountability. Conduct regular meetings with internal teams and stakeholders. Procurement & Resource Management Plan and ensure timely procurement of materials, equipment, and labor. Liaise with the purchase department and vendors to avoid delays or shortages. Oversee inventory management on site. Quality Assurance & Compliance Ensure execution of work as per approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards. Enforce health and safety standards and legal compliance on the construction site. Conduct regular inspections and coordinate third-party quality checks when required. Client & Stakeholder Communication Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and changes. Address client concerns and implement feedback efficiently. Risk Management Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Resolve technical and operational issues on-site promptly. Documentation & Reporting Maintain up-to-date project documentation, including schedules, daily logs, change orders, and approvals. Prepare progress reports for management and stakeholders. Ensure timely submission of project completion reports, handover documents, and client sign-offs. Contract Management Understand and implement contract obligations with clients and subcontractors. Handle contract variations, claims, and negotiations. Project Closeout Supervise final inspections, defect rectification, and handover processes. Ensure completion certificates, warranties, and as-built drawings are obtained and submitted. Key Responsibilities – Construction Manager (Construction Industry) Site Execution & Supervision Oversee day-to-day site operations and ensure construction activities progress as per plan. Ensure adherence to design specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. Monitor the work of site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and laborers. Project Scheduling & Coordination Collaborate with the project manager to prepare and maintain the construction schedule. Sequence activities and allocate manpower, materials, and equipment for timely task execution. Monitor daily and weekly progress and report any delays or issues impacting timelines. Material & Equipment Management Ensure timely availability of materials, tools, and machinery at the site. Verify material quality and handle site inventory in coordination with the procurement team. Prevent material wastage and manage on-site logistics efficiently. Workforce Management Supervise and direct site workers and subcontractors, ensuring productivity and discipline. Assign responsibilities and assess performance of site personnel. Ensure labor availability and resolve on-site HR or labor-related issues. Quality Control Conduct quality checks and inspections to ensure compliance with standards and specifications. Coordinate with QA/QC teams and ensure proper documentation of test reports and quality inspections. Rectify non-conformance issues with corrective actions. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and statutory compliance. Conduct regular toolbox talks, safety audits, and ensure use of PPE on site. Report incidents or near misses and implement preventive measures. Coordination with Stakeholders Act as a key link between on-site teams and the project manager, consultants, and clients. Communicate design changes, technical clarifications, and execution plans effectively. Attend coordination meetings and site reviews as required. Documentation & Reporting Maintain daily site logs, progress reports, and material usage records. Support preparation of progress billing and verification of subcontractor work completion. Keep updated records of inspections, approvals, and work checklists. Problem Solving & Issue Resolution Address site-level challenges, including technical issues, delays, and resource conflicts. Recommend practical and cost-effective solutions to maintain workflow. Project Closeout Support Supervise final execution activities including finishing work, snag rectification, and cleaning. Ensure handover readiness and assist in completion documentation and client walkthroughs.
