The Sr. Software Engineer focused on security is responsible for implementing various security fixes and carrying out the full stack implementation of a software technology stack to facilitate remote services. You will be involved in the development and maintenance of Vertiv's LIFE Services Cloud Platform, requiring proficiency in React.JS/Angular, .NET Core, web development, database, and messaging service technologies. In this role, you will collaborate closely with a software architect on the overall system design and work alongside other software engineers to deliver the solution. Your responsibilities will include taking a leadership role in the design, development, debugging, and testing of the full stack software solution. You will own system features throughout the implementation process and demonstrate a strong motivation to learn about software security aspects. Supporting the implementation of security fixes such as code injections, buffer overflow, and remote injections will be a key part of your role. Active participation during the design and specification process is essential to ensure project plans align with business objectives. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the user interface implementation follows human-centered design principles and branding standards. Furthermore, you will provide development and testing estimates based on engineering specifications and actively participate in collaborative environments including team break-outs, design, and scrum meetings. Managing and updating current work efforts as recorded in User Stories and tasks within Rally will be part of your routine. Experience with Python, containerization (Docker), microservices, cloud development (Azure, AWS), agile development methodology, web servers, and application servers is considered advantageous. Moreover, you should have a good grasp of software security principles and design, along with knowledge of common security threats in web apps such as OWASP/SANS25. Proficiency in React front-end framework, .NET Core, MVC, C#, C++, SQL, JavaScript charting, graphing, and dash boarding frameworks, as well as familiarity with equipment modeling properties within software, will be beneficial. Understanding of the data center and telecom industries is preferred but not mandatory.
