Java ERP Developer (3+ Years, Apache OFBiz)

Role & responsibilities

Java Developer

The first 6 months will also include L3 Support for enterprise-grade ERP systems, with a strong focus on Apache OFBiz. This position demands expertise in the OFBiz stackincluding Entity Engine, Service Engine, Minilang scripting, and Freemarker-based UI developmentalongside strong backend engineering with Java and MySQL.

Tech Responsibilities

• Design and enhance ERP modules: Order-to-Cash, Procurement, Inventory, CRM.
• Customize OFBiz entities, services, and screens with proper modularity.
• Build and tune complex SQL queries, indexes, and views in

  MySQL

• Create dynamic Freemarker macros & widgets for responsive UI/UX.
• Implement REST APIs with

  OAuth 2.0

  , error-handling, and security headers.
• Apply Java best practices: SOLID, Clean Code, Layered Architecture.
• Profile JVM with tools like VisualVM, JFR; optimize memory and thread usage.
• Write testable, maintainable code with JUnit/TestNG and logging via SLF4J.

Requirements

• Strong Java (8+), JDBC, and OFBiz framework knowledge.
• Practical MySQL tuning: slow query logs, EXPLAIN plans, schema refactoring.
• Hands-on Freemarker templating (screens, forms, widgets).
• Strong grasp of RESTful services, OAuth2 tokens, scopes, and refresh flows.
• Working experience with Git, Gradle/Maven, and Agile sprints.
• Frontend exposure: JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, basic CSS styling.
• Developed scalable Python microservices and APIs (Flask, FastAPI, Django) with secure deployments.
• Built ETL/data pipelines using Airflow, pandas, and integrated with cloud data platforms (S3, Redshift).
• Created interactive dashboards (Dash, Streamlit) and real-time features with WebSockets.

Used Docker, CI/CD, and followed TDD and code quality best practices.
