Job Title: Fire and Safety Officer Job Summary: The Fire and Safety Officer is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing the organization's fire prevention and safety programs. This role ensures compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, educates staff on safety procedures, and takes appropriate measures to minimize risk and respond to emergencies. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement fire safety and emergency evacuation procedures. Conduct regular inspections of fire safety equipment (fire extinguishers, alarms, hydrants, etc.). Ensure compliance with fire codes and occupational safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, NFPA). Organize and lead fire drills and safety training sessions. Perform risk assessments and recommend corrective measures. Investigate accidents, incidents, or near-misses and prepare reports with recommendations. Monitor and maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and ensure hazardous materials are stored and handled properly. Liaise with local fire departments and emergency services as needed. Maintain and update safety policies and procedures. Provide guidance to management on health and safety issues. Requirements: Degree or diploma in Fire Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field. Certification in fire safety (e.g., NEBOSH, NFPA, IOSH) is highly preferred. Proven experience (3+ years) in fire safety or occupational health and safety. In-depth knowledge of fire codes, safety regulations, and emergency response procedures. Strong communication and training skills. Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly in emergencies.
