Role Summary Responsible for participating in the evolution and execution of procedures for ensuring the quality of new features and releases of software products. Debugs software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for company products. Develops, modifies, and executes software test plans, automated scripts and programs for testing. Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures. Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software. Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action. Consults with development engineers in resolution of problems. Provides feedback in preparation of technical appraisals of programming languages, systems, and computation software. Key Responsibilities Experience: 4+ years of experience In-depth knowledge of 4G/5G Packet Core domain Working experience on an Open stack based Virtualized environment and Kubernetes based containerized environment. Working experience on one or more of following 5G Packet Core NFs: AMF, SMF, UPF, PCF, AUSF, NRF, NSSF and UDSF Working experience on one or more of following 4G Packet Core VNFs: MME, SAEGW, SAEGW-C, SAEGW-U, PCRF, CGNAT Thorough understanding of 3GPP specifications covering system architecture and procedures for the 5G Core network Good understanding of 3GPP specifications covering N1, N2, N3, N4, N6, N7, N8, N9, N10, N11, N12, N15, N20 and N40 Service Based Interfaces Good understanding of policy and charging in packet core domain Good understanding and working knowledge of Networking Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols Hands on experience in using test tools including but not limited to EAST, Spirent Landslide, dsTest and iXLoad Knowledge of message flows and parameters used in the messages for LTE/5GC procedures Working experience on C++, Shell and Python scripting. Should be able to independently write and debug shell and python scripts. Working experience in Python based automation frameworks like Robot Framework and pyTest. Proficient in C++, OOPs and Design Patterns. Should have good debugging skills and hands-on in using GDB, Valgrind . In depth knowledge of linux is added advantage. Familiarity with JSON, XML, YANG, CMake, Makefiles, scripting is added advantage. Prior experience of working in a platform/framework (provide API/functionality for applications to use) is an added advantage. Job Requirements The employee has to work very closely with 4G/5G testing team. Should have very strong 4G/5G knowledge and testing skills. Should have extensive experience in tools like Spirent/EAST etc. Should be flexible in working environment and team spirit. We are searching for a highly skilled Python Automation Engineer with expertise in 5G networks and IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) testing to become a part of our dynamic team. The perfect candidate will have practical experience in automating test scripts, telecom protocol testing, and ensuring the quality, performance, and resiliency of 5G/4G network functions. As a Python Automation Engineer, you will have a significant role in the validation of IMS architecture, automation of test cases, and performance verification of network functions. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining automated test scripts utilizing Python, TCL, and BDD to validate IMS functionalities and 5G/4G network features. You will design, execute, and enhance test cases for telecom protocols such as SIP, Diameter, MAP, SBI, RTP, and DNS. Additionally, you will be performing integration, performance, and resiliency testing of IMS applications and 3GPP nodes like HLR, HSS, UDM, SMSC, PGW, SMF, and MME. Building and maintaining automation frameworks to streamline test execution and reporting, conducting manual and automated testing for IMS-based services such as VoLTE, VoWiFi, and RCS, simulating network traffic, and testing performance under various conditions using tools like IxLoad, Landslide, and EXFO are crucial aspects of the role. Furthermore, you will be responsible for debugging and troubleshooting issues at both software and network levels using logs, stats, Grafana, and protocol analyzers like Wireshark. Your collaboration with software engineers, network engineers, and DevOps teams to resolve issues and enhance system performance is essential. Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Kubernetes, Flux/GitOps, testing system resiliency, geo-redundancy, hardware failure scenarios, and conducting chaos testing will also be part of your duties. To excel in this role, you must possess strong programming skills in Python, along with experience in TCL and BDD. A solid understanding of IMS and its components (HSS, PCRF, CSCF), practical experience with 5G/4G networks and 3GPP nodes, deep knowledge of telecom protocols (SIP, Diameter, MAP, SBI), experience with automation tools and frameworks like Robot Framework, Selenium, or pytest, proficiency with network simulators and analyzers, hands-on experience with Kubernetes, GitOps (Flux), and CI/CD pipelines, strong networking knowledge, experience in performance/load/stress testing and debugging at scale, familiarity with monitoring tools and bug tracking tools, understanding of telecom standards and IMS-based services, as well as excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment, are crucial.
