The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in Radiology, Interventional Radiology (IVR), and Surgery Coding , and a strong ability to train and mentor aspiring coders. Key Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive training sessions on Radiology, IVR, and Surgery coding. Develop and update training materials, assessments, and coding exercises. Evaluate trainee performance and provide constructive feedback. Stay updated with the latest coding guidelines (CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS). Support certification preparation (e.g., CPC, CIRCC, CCS). Requirements: Minimum 6 years of experience in medical coding with specialization in Radiology, IVR, and Surgery .(Must have trained in current Organization) Certified Professional Coder (CPC), CIRCC, or equivalent certification preferred. Key Responsibilities: Training Development and Delivery: Design, develop, and implement training programs for Interventional Radiology coding. Conduct new-hire, refresher, and advanced training sessions tailored to the needs of both individual coders and teams. Facilitate hands-on practice sessions, coding simulations, and case studies to provide practical learning experiences. Assessment and Evaluation: Develop assessments to measure coder proficiency, including accuracy, speed, and overall coding competency. Conduct audits to evaluate coder performance and provide targeted feedback and retraining when needed. Analyze assessment results to identify gaps and refine training strategies for continuous improvement. Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with the coding quality, operations, and compliance teams to ensure training aligns with business goals and coding standards. Partner with coding supervisors to monitor coder productivity and accuracy, adjusting training programs as necessary. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of all training sessions, assessments, and feedback provided. Prepare reports on training outcomes, coder performance, and areas for improvement for leadership review. Compliance and Updates: Ensure training materials reflect the latest CMS, AMA, and payer-specific guidelines. Stay updated on regulatory and compliance changes to ensure coders meet audit and payer standards. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in healthcare, life sciences, health information management, or a related field. Certification: Certified Professional Coder (CPC, CEMC) or equivalent certification from AAPC or other recognized body. Experience: 5-7 years of hands-on experience in medical coding, with a strong focus on Interventional Radiology. At least 1 year of experience as a trainer, mentor, or in a leadership role within a coding team. Skills: In-depth understanding of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS Level II codes, and guidelines for E/M and ED coding. Familiarity with payer-specific policies (e.g., Medicare and Medicaid regulations). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and video editing tools. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate coders. Analytical and problem-solving skills for error identification and training improvements. Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple training sessions and deadlines.
