Job Description

Job Summary

The ITI Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for maintenance, installation, and repair of mechanical equipment used in ice cream manufacturing, ensuring smooth plant operations with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment
Maintain ice cream production machinery such as freezers, mixers, conveyors, compressors, pumps, and packaging machines
Assemble, dismantle, align, and fit mechanical components as per drawings
Carry out lubrication, tightening, and replacement of worn-out parts
Assist in installation and commissioning of new machinery
Identify mechanical faults and take corrective actions
Maintain maintenance records and logbooks
Follow safety, hygiene, and GMP standards of food manufacturing
Coordinate with electrical and production teams during maintenance activities

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance and fitting work
Basic understanding of refrigeration systems (preferred)
Ability to read basic mechanical drawings
Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
Awareness of safety procedures and food industry standards
Willingness to work in shifts and cold environments

Qualifications

ITI in Mechanical Fitter / Maintenance / Mechanical Trade
13 years experience in manufacturing plant (Food/FMCG preferred)
