Key Tasks and Responsibilities: The four core tasks of the EOC in brief: Ongoing monitoring Troubleshooting Proactive task processing Communication Support and monitoring of the applications and services of our specialist departments Monitoring and troubleshooting of jobs and production plans in Job Control Monitoring of security systems (video surveillance, access control) Monitoring and support in resolving faults in infrastructure systems, e.g., servers, networks, and also in building facilities such as power supply and air conditioning in data centers Troubleshooting, escalation, and issue tracking Automation of processes for troubleshooting or maintenance and servicing of systems within the EOC's area of responsibility. Control of IT production across all system platforms and environments used in the data center Collaboration with internationally distributed teams and the technically active Technology Lead for the EOC, e.g., for coordination, further development, and optimization of EOC responsibilities Operation and use of the service management systems in place Creation and maintenance of documentation Key Requirements: Completed relevant vocational training, e.g., IT specialist in system integration, or comparable knowledge and experience acquired through practice Relevant professional experience in operations/control centers for Windows, Unix/Linux, network, storage systems, and other IT environments Knowledge of job scheduling; experience with Automic/UC4 is an advantage Experience in monitoring for resource and utilization management, preferably with CheckMK or Datadog In-depth knowledge of network infrastructure (TCP/IP, VLAN) Ideally, knowledge of operating systems such as Windows, Linux, UNIX, as well as database systems, internet services, and network structures Practical experience using scripting languages to automate processes on Windows and/or Linux systems Experience in IT support/service management Independent working style, strong communication and teamwork skills, a high sense of responsibility, and the ability to remain calm, flexible, and committed in crisis situations Good to very good written and spoken English skills Willingness to work in a 3-shift system (the EOC is staffed 24/7)
