As a Project Manager in this role, your primary responsibility will be to execute and monitor project execution efficiently, safely, and with high quality, while ensuring adherence to statutory norms. As the General Manager of Plant Engineering & Utilities at our facility located in Sriperumbudur, Chennai, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operation of the utility infrastructure. This includes managing both mechanical and electrical systems to ensure the continuous availability of utilities to meet production requirements and mitigate safety risks effectively. Your essential functions will involve steering the operations of utilities, including electrical and mechanical systems, to achieve targeted productivity levels. You will be tasked with operating these systems within set budgets, implementing and maintaining an effective maintenance system based on Total Productive Maintenance principles, and tracking performance metrics to identify and address any recurring issues promptly. In addition, you will be expected to monitor capacity utilization of utilities, manage costs effectively, enhance the competency of the facility team through training programs, drive energy efficiency initiatives, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and lead project activities for capacity enhancement when necessary. To be successful in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with a minimum of 15 years of experience in the Automotive manufacturing or Heavy Engineering industry. Certification in the Energy domain would be advantageous. You must demonstrate expertise in handling both Mechanical and Electrical systems at a large scale, knowledge of ISO systems, and strong leadership skills with the ability to build and mentor teams effectively.
