The International Register of Shipping (INTLREG) is an independent classification society established in 1993, offering classification, certification, verification, and advisory services authorized by 42 flag states for statutory certification. We are seeking a suitable candidate for the position of Senior Survey Assurance Officer at our INTLREG Office in Kochi, India, or other Asian major port cities where we have offices. As a Senior Survey Assurance Officer, your role will involve monitoring, supporting, and facilitating the fulfillment of INTLREG objectives related to classification, statutory, and related services. You will be responsible for overseeing all forms of classification and statutory surveys/certification services requested by clients through various INTLREG survey stations or offices in the assigned region. Key responsibilities of the position include: - Technical review of survey reports and issuance of certificates in compliance with applicable rules and regulations. - Providing technical advice to surveyors during surveys, audits, and regulatory matters. - Monitoring survey and audit activities to ensure quality and compliance, taking corrective measures as needed. - Guiding and coordinating with field surveyors to address inadequacies and rectify issues. - Improving work processes to enhance customer satisfaction and business results. - Conducting training for field surveyors and evaluating their training needs. - Assisting the Quality Assurance Department in conducting audits of survey stations. - Participating in special projects as assigned by management. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related engineering branches OR Certificate of competency as Chief Engineer with at least 1 year of sailing experience. - Knowledge of class and statutory surveys, maritime audits, and relevant regulations such as SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, ISPS, MLC, and other technical codes. - Qualification as ISM/ISPS Auditor and MLC inspector. - Desirable qualification as an ISO 9001:2015 Lead auditor. - Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills in English. Experience: - Minimum of 15 years of experience, with at least 5 years in classification and statutory surveys in a reputable ship classification society or related technical functions.
