Island Maintenance Tech-Electric Power Plant Operator

In this role at Disney Cruise Line, you will be responsible for performing advanced skilled maintenance and repair of mechanical and/or electrical equipment with a specific focus on your assigned trade. Your duties will include operating a variety of equipment and machinery, such as saws, drill presses, and hand and power tools, to effectively carry out repair and maintenance work. You will interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and work orders to ensure maintenance activities are performed accurately. Key Responsibilities: - Perform maintenance and repair of all equipment connected to the Plant operations - Maintain and repair diesel engines and generators - Adjust electrical power supply and connect/disconnect generators to the mainline - Maintain and repair all fuel bunkering equipment including pumps, pipeline, valves, etc. - Promote a safe work environment by complying with safety competencies, company policies, and procedures - Work from ladders, elevated platforms, and confined spaces as necessary - Provide lateral service to other departments as needed Qualifications Required: - Legally authorized to work in the Bahamas - 3-4 years of experience as an Electrical Plant Operator - Previous experience troubleshooting and maintaining electrical power production systems, diesel, and gasoline engines - Diploma or certificate supporting training as an Electrical Plant Operator and maintaining/repairing diesel engines - Knowledge of standard practices, tools, and materials in Electrical Plant facilities - Understanding of occupational hazards and safety precautions in Electrical Plant Operations - Ability to estimate time and material needs - Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights Additional Information: This role is based on Disney's private island in the Bahamas.
