As an Automation Engineer at Pentair, you will be a crucial part of the team responsible for transforming manufacturing sites into Factories of the Future through operational excellence. Your primary focus will be on designing, integrating, and expanding Industry 4.0 initiatives, which includes implementing SCADA and MES solutions across our global manufacturing sites. In this role, you will be tasked with developing industrial automation, controls design, programming, IT/OT network architecture, communication protocols, and data analytics solutions. You will work closely with the Global Engineering Centre (GEC) to establish digital factory vision, strategy, and roadmap, collaborating with Pentair AMET and cross-functional teams. Your responsibilities will encompass setting Enterprise standards for Industry 4.0 solutions, collaborating with offshore teams and contractors, designing user-friendly HMI and SCADA interfaces, establishing IT/OT connectivity with various devices, controllers, and systems, and conducting testing and commissioning of automation systems. Additionally, you will be required to create and maintain detailed documentation, troubleshoot system-related issues, perform maintenance and upgrades, ensure safety and compliance standards, and collaborate with mechanical engineers, software developers, and project managers for seamless integration of automation solutions. To be successful in this role, you should possess a diploma/bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Automation, or a related field, along with 5-8 years of experience in electrical automation system design and implementation. Professional certifications related to automation and expertise in MES, ERP systems, and Ignition are highly desirable. Furthermore, you must exhibit a can-do positive attitude, be driven, innovative, and adaptable to new technologies. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential for effective interactions with global team members, stakeholders, leadership, vendors, and customers.
