Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Year-End Bookkeeper specializing in the UK & Ireland accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping, financial reporting, tax compliance, and auditing processes specific to the UK and Ireland regulations. This role requires a proactive professional who can ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records while working closely with internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Lead year-end financial reconciliations, including bank statements, credit cards, and general ledgers. Prepare and review adjusting journal entries to ensure accuracy in financial reporting. Manage the year-end closing process, including financial statement preparation and reporting. Oversee and reconcile accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR). Ensure compliance with UK & Ireland tax regulations, including VAT, Corporation Tax, and other statutory filings. Collaborate with accountants and auditors to facilitate a smooth year-end audit process. Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records with a strategic approach. Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping records and ensure data integrity. Provide insights and recommendations for process improvements in financial reporting and bookkeeping. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes. Ensure adherence to company policies and financial best practices. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Minimum 4 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial management, specifically within the UK & Ireland process. Proficiency in UK & Ireland accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, Free Agent). Strong understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS, and local financial reporting standards. Extensive experience with UK & Ireland tax preparation and compliance, including VAT returns and Corporation Tax. High attention to detail and accuracy. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
