Legal Counsel You will be working as In-House Legal Counsel and become part of Serrala’s global Legal and Compliance Team dedicated to enable Serrala’s various development and sales activities. As integral part of a dedicated team of lawyers and legal professionals from different regions and jurisdictions, we are in constant exchange and integrated in all operational activities that require legal advice. As a Legal Counsel at Serrala, you will report directly to our global General Counsel. You will coordinate and provide legal guidance, support our technological and business teams. You can collaborate with other Serralians to develop policies, practices, and guidelines under Indian law and international trade and commercial standards. As currently only fully qualified lawyer in India, you can help to shape the future development of our Indian legal organization. In addition, you will be first trusted contact for our local management, to give legal advice on various matters of local law and regulation. Key Responsibilities Your key focus will lie on negotiating complex on-premises software and SaaS agreements with our customers, in North America, the EU, APAC, and many other regions and jurisdictions, always in close alignment with our sales and consulting representatives. You are also responsible for drafting and negotiating a variety of IT-service, purchase and procurement agreements, company policies and service descriptions, as well as other project and commercial agreements and legal documents including company housekeeping documents. You will maintain and enhance Serralas contract archive and coordinate complex projects in cross-departmental teams and advise them on a wide range of legal topics. With your expertise in Indian Law, you can also be the primary legal contact for our Regional Management in India with advice on all legal matters related to our local activities including HR law, property, procurement, and administrative law. Requirements Desired skills Solid background: You have a full Indian legal education, with: Graduation from a public or accredited private university or law school, B.A. and practice in Law, or B.A. and LL.M., or JD, and Admitted as solicitor (or at least passed all respective exams and qualifications). You have studied at a distinguished University and graduated with above-average exams or honors. You have acquired relevant experience in an established law firm or worked in the legal department of an international company. Professional Expertise: You have relevant professional and working experience in TMT or IP/IT law, and experience in negotiating software contracts on the seller and buyer side. You have at least 3 years of experience as In-house lawyer in an established Legal Team. Communication skills: You have a business-fluent command of written and spoken legal English.
