Role Overview: The Home Automation Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of smart home systems, including touch panels, Retrofit, Wi-Fi devices, Zigbee, Z-Wave, and KNX-based automation solutions. This role ensures seamless integration of various automation protocols to enhance the functionality and convenience of residential properties. Key Responsibilities: Installation & Integration: Install and configure touch panels, smart lighting, HVAC systems, security devices, and entertainment systems. Integrate devices using protocols such as KNX, Zigbee, Z-Wave, and Wi-Fi to create cohesive automation solutions. Ensure proper wiring, connections, and functionality of all automation devices. Programming & Configuration: Program and configure automation systems to meet client specifications, including scene creation and device interaction logic. Develop custom control interfaces and user interfaces using platforms like RTI . Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve issues related to home automation systems, ensuring optimal performance. Perform regular maintenance and software updates to keep systems running efficiently. Client Consultation & Support: Collaborate with clients, architects, and interior designers to develop comprehensive automation solutions. Provide training and support to clients on system operation and maintenance. Documentation & Reporting: Create detailed technical documentation for installations and configurations. Maintain records of system designs, configurations, and technical details. Required Skills & Qualifications: Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, or a related field. Technical Skills: Proficiency in installing and configuring automation systems using KNX, Zigbee, Z-Wave, and Wi-Fi protocols. Experience with touch panel setups and integration of various smart devices. Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or C++ for automation solutions. Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including IP addressing, routers, and switches. Experience: Minimum of 1 To 3 years of experience in home automation system implementation and maintenance. Hands-on experience with home automation equipment such as lighting control systems, smart thermostats, security cameras, audio/video systems, and environmental controls.
