Overall Team comprises of mechanical, electrical, electronics and software functions and also, we have a proto-lab for concept and feasibility approach. Work with global team in Santa Clara, Israel, Taiwan and world-wide field customers. Team was formed last 5+ years, and Total India team size is 25+. Team has many accolades and won many teams of the quarter awards. Motto of team is: ‘Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.’ Key Responsibilities: Seasoned Mechanical Engineer who is aware of general system design, Precision engineering, optical systems- design methodology, engineering, safety, and qualification and System Engineering mindset) Design mechanical components, including structural elements, pneumatic systems, vacuum systems, manual and motorized mechanisms, filtration systems, and cooling systems for clean room environments. Conduct CAE simulations and analyses for design validation and troubleshooting. Create detailed drawings, define fabrication processes, materials, and finish standards with comprehensive GD&T, and perform complex tolerance analyses. Plan and execute experiments to validate designs. Lead the mechanical aspects of the development process, present design reviews, and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management, product manufacturing, field support, and suppliers. Qualifications: B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering 8-12 years of experience. Job requires knowledge of system engineering, Optical and metrology systems, motion mechanics, high precision motion stages, and stage subsystems (chuck, substrates/wafer handling, interferometry, metrology, …) Structural FEA as a must. Flow and thermal good to have. Proficient in first order mechanical engineering calculations for high predictability of design performance. Mechanical engineering experience in component selection, building, testing, troubleshooting, and releasing semiconductor or other similar scale capital equipment. Knowledge in SEMI S2/S8/S14, NFPA 79, F47, CE, EMI/EMC safety standards In-depth knowledge of 3D CAD design tools (i.e., Inventor) and 2D CAD drawing tools not limited to Nx, Inventor, AutoCAD, etc. Familiar with machined parts fabrication and designing for cost effective solutions. Working knowledge of materials & components used in semiconductor wafer manufacturing equipment, materials characterization methods, and failure analysis of materials/system. Experience with supporting manufacturing and service organizations through training, documentation (procedures, OMS, BKMs, etc.), and troubleshooting. Proficiency in data analysis software like Excel, or equivalent Strong time management skills with an emphasis on managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communications skills, organizational skills and sense of collaboration. Drive and desire to thrive in a start-up like environment. Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and innovative Senior Optical Engineer to lead a team of 5-7 young optical engineers. As a Senior Optical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and optimizing optical systems and components for an optical payload which will qualify for space flight onboard our satellites. Your expertise in optical design, analysis, and testing the relevant class of optical payloads will be crucial in advancing our products and technologies. Responsibilities: Optical System Design: (Desirable) Ø Conceptualizing optical payload of a satellite Ø Complete design of a telescope including reflective, refractive, dispersive elements and sensors/detector systems Ø Detailed ray tracing, analysis, Image quality assessment employing Zemax/Code V Software Ø Utilize optical modelling software like Zemax/Code V to simulate and optimize the performance of optical components and detector systems. Ø Image Quality Parameter estimation and optimization of MTF and SNR Ø Study and perform thermal gradient analysis on performance Prototyping, Testing and Characterization: Ø Conduct rigorous optical testing and analysis of payload to measure performance metrics and identify areas for improvement. Ø Relative Spectral Response of the multispectral and Hyperspectral imager Ø Non-uniform sensitivity assessment of Camera/Sensor Electronics Ø MTF and SNR measurements Research and Innovation: Ø Stay up-to-date with advancements in optical technologies and research to propose new ideas and innovative solutions. Ø Contribute to the development of intellectual property through patents and publications. Hand-on experience: Ø First hand experience employing a. Collimator, b. Monochromator, c. Integrated Light sphere and d. CMOS sensors Quality Assurance: Ø Ensure optical systems and components meet high-quality standards and comply with relevant regulations and industry standards. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's, Master's, in Optical Engineering, Physics with Photonics specialization or a related field. Experience in optical system design and analysis, preferably in an industrial or research setting. Proficiency in optical modelling software, such as Zemax, Code V and experience in utilizing other optical design tools. Strong knowledge of optics principles, optical materials, and optical component selection. Familiarity with optical metrology and testing techniques, such as interferometry or MTF measurement. Hands-on experience with optical prototyping, alignment, and testing. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on innovative and practical solutions. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. Effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
