Role Overview

Intensivist

Core Responsibilities

• Patient Care:

  Provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring.

• Emergency Management:

  Lead resuscitation efforts, handle life-threatening emergencies, and perform critical procedures.

• Clinical Oversight:

  Supervise and guide ICU staff including residents, nurses, and technicians.

• Protocols & Compliance:

  Ensure adherence to ICU protocols, infection control standards, and hospital policies.

• Family Communication:

  Regularly update patient families regarding condition, prognosis, and treatment plans.

• Multidisciplinary Collaboration:

  Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, cardiologists, and other specialists to optimize patient outcomes.

• Continuous Improvement:

  Participate in ICU audits, quality checks, and contribute to critical care improvement initiatives.

Industry-Specific Duties

• Perform invasive and non-invasive procedures such as intubation, central line insertion, and ventilator management.
  
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient records in compliance with medical standards.
  
• Participate in morbidity and mortality reviews, medical rounds, and clinical case discussions.
  
• Provide teaching and training to junior doctors, residents, and ICU staff.
  
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in critical care medicine and incorporate evidence-based practices.
  
• Support hospital accreditation processes related to ICU care and compliance.
  

Key Skills & Qualifications

• Post Graduate in MBBS with IDCCM (Indian Diploma in Critical Care Medicine).

• Minimum

  2 years of experience

  as an Intensivist in a reputed hospital.
• Strong knowledge of

  critical care medicine, emergency management, and ICU protocols

  .
• Excellent

  decision-making, leadership, and interpersonal skills

  .
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations with accuracy and composure.
