Integration Engineer

Role Overview: You will be responsible for designing and maintaining middleware services to facilitate data exchange between internal and external systems. Your expertise in API and middleware development will be crucial in enabling reliable, secure, and scalable system-to-system communication. This hands-on role will require you to work with technologies such as Node.js, Kong API Gateway, and Kafka/RabbitMQ. Key Responsibilities: - Design, build, and maintain middleware services for managing data exchange between internal and external systems. - Develop REST APIs and asynchronous processing flows using Node.js. - Implement and configure Kong API Gateway for routing, authentication, and throttling. - Handle data transformation, mapping, validation, and orchestration. - Apply middleware-focused design patterns such as faade, adapter, and event-driven messaging. - Utilize queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ) and file-based inputs (SFTP) for asynchronous integrations. - Secure endpoints using OAuth2, JWT, API keys, and rate limiting. - Write testable, maintainable code with robust logging and monitoring. Qualifications Required: - 6-8 years of backend or integration development experience, preferably in fintech, SaaS, or wealthtech. - Strong hands-on experience with Node.js for REST API and middleware development. - Solid knowledge of Kong API Gateway or similar technologies. - Familiarity with integration methods including REST/SOAP APIs, webhooks, message queues, and SFTP. - Experience working with financial data formats such as FIX, OFX, JSON, and XML. - Comfort with asynchronous tools like Kafka, RabbitMQ, and SQS. - Deep understanding of API and middleware security best practices.,
