About The Role
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Senior Software Engineer (AI/Python) to join our data and AI engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy AI/ML-driven solutions that power clinical insights, predictive analytics, and automation within our healthcare platforms.You will collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and cloud engineers to translate research models into scalable, production-ready applications that deliver measurable business and clinical impact. This position requires a blend of software engineering expertise, machine learning understanding, and problem-solving acumen in healthcare and data-intensive environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain production-grade AI/ML applications using Python and modern frameworks.
- Collaborate with data science teams to build, optimize, and deploy ML models for tasks such as predictive analytics, natural language processing (NLP), and anomaly detection.
- Implement ETL pipelines, data preprocessing, and feature engineering workflows to prepare large-scale healthcare datasets for modeling.
- Integrate AI services and APIs into existing enterprise applications, ensuring performance, scalability, and security.
- Develop modular, testable, and reusable code following software engineering best practices (OOP, SOLID principles).
- Work with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for model training, deployment, and monitoring.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of data-driven microservices and APIs that expose AI functionality to end-user applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teamsincluding product management, DevOps, and QAto ensure seamless integration and delivery.
- Continuously evaluate emerging AI technologies and frameworks to enhance the companys AI strategy and capabilities.
- Document technical solutions, architectures, and research findings to ensure knowledge sharing and reproducibility.
Required Skills And Qualifications
- 35+ years of professional experience in Python software development.
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in AI/ML or NLP projects.
- Strong programming proficiency in Python, with experience using libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or SpaCy.
- Sound understanding of machine learning concepts, including model training, validation, and deployment.
- Experience with text analytics, language models, or document classification (preferred).
- Solid foundation in Computer Science fundamentals data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and software engineering principles.
- Experience in API development (FastAPI, Flask, Django) and integration of AI services.
- Familiarity with database systems (SQL and NoSQL) and data query optimization.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Docker/Kubernetes, and Git-based workflows.
- Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in Agile/Scrum teams.
Preferred / Nice To Have
- Experience in healthcare technology, EHR/EMR systems, or clinical data processing.
- Exposure to Generative AI (LLMs), transformer-based models (BERT, GPT, etc.), or MLOps frameworks.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (Plotly, Dash, Streamlit, Power BI).
- Understanding of cloud-native AI workflows (SageMaker, Vertex AI, or Azure ML).
- Experience with model versioning and monitoring tools (MLflow, DVC, Kubeflow).
- Knowledge of data privacy and compliance standards such as HIPAA.
Education
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong academic foundation in algorithms, statistics, and software design.
- Additional certifications in AI/ML frameworks, cloud computing, or data engineering (e.g., AWS ML Specialty, TensorFlow Developer, Azure AI Engineer) will be considered a plus.
