Job Description

Position: Instrument Technician / Electrical Technician

Location: Saudi Arabia

Industry: Oil & Gas / Petrochemical / Industrial Plants

Experience: Gulf experience preferred (Aramco/SEC experience is an advantage)

Role Overview

The Instrument/Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various electrical and instrumentation systems in industrial and petrochemical plants. The role requires strong hands-on technical skills, knowledge of PLC/DCS systems, and the ability to diagnose faults efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Instrumentation Responsibilities:

  • Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair field instruments (pressure, flow, level, temperature).
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation issues related to sensors, transmitters, valves, and control loops.
  • Perform loop checks, continuity tests, and functional testing of instruments.
  • Work on DCS/PLC systems for routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Comply with site-specific instrumentation standards and client requirements.

Electrical Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain electrical systems such as motors, control panels, relays, switches, wiring, and breakers.
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults and perform corrective maintenance.
  • Conduct insulation resistance testing, megger tests, earth resistance tests, etc.
  • Read & interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Ensure safe operation of electrical equipment following PTW (Permit to Work) system.
  • Repair and maintain electrical systems in chemical/petrochemical plants.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience (Gulf experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of E&I systems, DCS/PLC operations, and control instruments.
  • Experience working in chemical, petrochemical, or oil & gas plants.
  • Ability to read technical diagrams and troubleshoot independently.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety procedures (LOTO, JSA, PTW).
  • Good communication skills (English preferred).
  • Ability to work in rotating shifts and under pressure.
