Job Title: Head, Infrastructure Projects Department: Facilities & Infrastructure, Projects, Civil Engineering Location: Coimbatore Industry: Educational Institute Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Head, Infrastructure Projects to lead and manage all civil engineering and infrastructure development initiatives for our institution. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in civil engineering and demonstrate extensive hands-on experience in the successful execution of large-scale institutional infrastructure projects. This pivotal role involves overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from strategic planning and design to procurement, execution, and post-completion review, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. The Head of Infrastructure Projects will be critical in expanding and modernizing our physical infrastructure to support the institution's strategic growth and operational needs. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Planning & Development: Develop and implement long-term infrastructure development plans aligned with the institution's strategic objectives. Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and risk analyses for proposed projects. Contribute to the master planning of campus/institutional infrastructure. Project Management & Execution: Lead and manage the complete lifecycle of all civil engineering and infrastructure projects, including new constructions, renovations, and upgrades. Oversee project conceptualization, detailed design, tender preparation, contractor selection, and contract management. Ensure strict adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks. Monitor project progress, identify potential deviations, and implement corrective actions proactively. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. Technical Expertise & Compliance: Apply deep knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methodologies, and building codes. Ensure all projects comply with local, national, and institutional regulations and standards. Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of project managers, engineers, and support staff. Foster strong collaborative relationships with internal departments (e.g., finance, operations, academic units) to ensure project requirements are met. Manage relationships with external consultants, architects, contractors, and suppliers. Act as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications. Financial Management: Prepare detailed project budgets and forecasts. Monitor project expenditures and ensure cost-effective resource utilization. Manage billing, payments, and financial close-out of projects. Reporting & Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, progress reports, and financial records. Prepare regular status reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders. Required Qualifications & Experience: Education: Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Civil Engineering is mandatory. Experience: A minimum of 20 years of progressive and demonstrable experience in civil engineering, with a significant and proven track record in handling and successfully delivering large-scale institutional infrastructure projects (e.g., educational campuses, hospitals, research facilities, corporate parks). Skills & Competencies: Exceptional leadership, team management, and mentoring capabilities. Strong project management skills, including planning, execution, monitoring, and control. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and CAD software. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Superior verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information clearly. Strong negotiation and contract management skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities. In-depth understanding of construction safety protocols and quality assurance processes. Compensation: Annual CTC: 20 - 25 LPA (Lakhs Per Annum)
