Informatica Developer

Role & responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using Informatica PowerCenter to extract, transform, and load data from heterogeneous sources into the data warehouse.
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into ETL specifications.
• Perform data analysis and profiling to identify data quality issues and recommend data cleansing and transformation rules.
• Write SQL queries and scripts to extract and manipulate data from relational databases.
• Create and maintain documentation for ETL processes, including data mappings, transformations, and workflows.
• Perform unit testing and debugging of ETL processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Collaborate with the database administration team to optimize ETL performance and troubleshoot any issues.
• Support the development of data models and data architecture to ensure scalability and data integrity.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide timely updates on project progress.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience as an ETL Informatica Developer or similar role.
• Strong proficiency in ETL Informatica PowerCenter, including designing mappings, transformations, and workflows.
• Sound knowledge of Oracle SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and querying from relational databases.
• Experience with data analysis and data profiling techniques.
• Familiarity with data modelling concepts and dimensional data warehouse design principles.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and quality.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with scheduling tools such as Control-M or Autosys is a plus.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Shell scripting or Python is desirable but not mandatory.
