Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Network Cabling Technician who should be able to install, terminate, test, and maintain data and voice cabling systems across the organization. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in structured cabling, LAN setup, and troubleshooting of copper and fiber optic connections to ensure reliable network connectivity. Key Responsibilities Install, terminate, and test Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic network cables. Perform cable routing through ceilings, walls, conduits, and cable trays. Mount and label network racks, patch panels, wall jacks, and outlets. Conduct cable performance testing and certification using tools such as Fluke testers. Troubleshoot network cabling faults and connectivity issues. Follow wiring diagrams, floor plans, and project layouts. Maintain accurate cabling documentation and labeling standards. Support network engineers during LAN/WAN installations and upgrades. Adhere to safety protocols and building codes during installation. Qualifications Education: ITI / Diploma or certificate in Information Technology, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related technical field. Vocational or trade school training in structured cabling is an advantage. Experience: 1–3 years of experience in structured cabling, LAN installation, or low-voltage systems. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Cat5e/Cat6 cabling standards (TIA/EIA-568). Experience with fiber optic cabling, splicing, and termination (preferred). Ability to use cable testers, crimping tools, and fusion splicers. Familiarity with patch panels, network switches, and server racks. Basic understanding of LAN networking (IP, VLAN, ports). Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints. Soft Skills Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures. Physically fit to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and lift equipment. Self-motivated with good time management skills. Work Conditions Work Type: On-site / Field-based Location: [City, Country / Project Sites] Employment Type: Full-time Hours: Standard business hours; occasional after-hours or weekend work for installations or maintenance. Travel: May be required between sites or client locations. Preferred Additional Skills Experience with CCTV, access control, or VoIP systems. Knowledge of wireless (Wi-Fi) access point installation. Familiarity with rack dressing and cable management best practices.
