Could you be the full-time Process Industrial Quality Engineer in Kolkata were looking for? You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring product quality compliance with customer and internal specifications, driving continuous improvement in industrial quality performance. Day-to-day, youll work closely with cross-functional teams such as Process & Manufacturing Engineering (PME), Supply Chain (SC), and Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA), as well as customer representatives and suppliers. Youll also support decision-making processes, perform analyses, and implement quality control plans, among other key responsibilities. You’ll specifically take care of managing quality activities, supporting defect reduction strategies, and ensuring compliance of manufactured products, but also contribute to process improvements and audits. We’ll look to you for: Managing industrial quality activities, including people, processes, and performance. Performing Defects per Unit (DpU) and external demerit analyses to lead quality improvement initiatives. Supporting decision-making for production handovers (GO/NOGO) and exercising veto rights when necessary. Participating in criticality matrix analysis and contributing to Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Leading First Article Reviews (FAR) and participating in Manufacturing Readiness Reviews (MRR). Implementing and updating quality control plans during pre- and serial manufacturing activities. Ensuring compliance of manufactured products and availability of Car History Books before shipping. All about you We value passion and attitude over experience. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role: Master’s degree in engineering (electromechanical, electrical, material, mechanical, or equivalent) for Manager/Engineer roles, or an associate degree for Technician roles. Ability to read technical drawings/specifications and familiarity with various test equipment. Special Process Qualification (minimum Level 2 according to Quality Academy criteria). Experience managing quality tools such as problem-solving methodologies and Lean Six Sigma. Knowledge of industrial-level quality processes and standards (ISO9001, IRIS, CMMI, etc.). Strong communication skills and attention to detail. Fluency in English and an international mindset (for Manager/Leader roles). Ability to work in a matrix organization and handle production/delivery pressures. Experience with digital tools; railway industry experience is a plus.
