POSITION PURPOSE:

Postdoctoral Researcher in Process Development of Natural Products

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our Crop Protection Innovation team at Bayer Vapi Pvt Ltd (India). This role focuses on route scouting, process development, and the scale-up of natural products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Natural Product Synthesis, demonstrated by a robust publication record.

The successful candidate will work within an interdisciplinary and cross-divisional team in the Crop Protection Innovation organisation. You will contribute to the innovative, industrial-scale synthesis of crop protection agents.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and plan projects aimed and identifying innovative, cost-effective, safe, and scalable synthesis methods for natural products synthesis having crop science applications.
• Propose and contribute to innovative synthetic routes for natural products of interest.
• Lead process development initiatives for the large-scale manufacturing of these natural products.
• Actively participate in interdisciplinary project teams, effectively communicating project progress and impacts to internal and external stake holders at various organizational levels.
• Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and objectives.

WHO YOU ARE:

• PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry with a specialization in Natural Product Synthesis.
• Deep understanding of synthetic organic chemistry and the ability to propose innovative solutions to synthetic challenges encountered during project execution.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to structure and simplify complex tasks.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams.
• Proficient in written and oral communication in English.
• Contract: Fixed term for 2 years.
