We are seeking an experienced Senior Purchase Engineer to manage procurement activities for automation products, control panels, and project-related materials. The ideal candidate will have strong technical understanding of automation components, vendor management skills, and the ability to align procurement with project timelines while optimizing cost, quality, and delivery performance. Key Responsibilities Plan and execute procurement for PLCs, HMIs, SCADA hardware/software, VFDs, Servo drives, sensors, actuators, control panels, electrical switchgear, and mechanical components. Understand technical requirements from the design, project, and production teams to ensure accurate and timely procurement. Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors for automation products and fabricated items. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings without compromising quality. Prepare purchase orders, review quotations, and conduct cost comparisons. Coordinate with the quality team for vendor audits and compliance with quality standards. Monitor inventory levels and work with stores to ensure availability of critical items. Maintain purchase records, contracts, and documentation in ERP systems. Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and statutory regulations. Follow up with vendors for on-time delivery and resolve supply chain issues proactively. Requirements Experience: 47 years in procurement, preferably in automation, industrial machinery, or project-based industries. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of automation products (Schneider, Rockwell, Siemens, etc.) Understanding of control panel components, electrical switchgear, and industrial instruments. Familiarity with ERP systems for purchase management. Education: Diploma/Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Instrumentation Engineering. The primary responsibility of this role is to expand DATOMS" presence by selling comprehensive IoT solutions tailored to industrial needs. This includes environmental compliance solutions (CEMS, AAQMS, EQMS), asset monitoring solutions for various equipment (Pumps, DG, Air Compressors, Fuel Management), and industry-specific solutions for sectors such as mines, steel, cement, chemicals, oil & gas. The ideal candidate should possess 7-10 years of enterprise sales experience in industrial settings, a solid technical background in industrial instruments and digital transformation, and a proven track record of driving significant business growth. Key Responsibilities Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement sales plans aimed at surpassing revenue targets for industrial IoT solutions, with a focus on environmental compliance and water monitoring. Identify new business opportunities and deliver compelling presentations to potential clients. Account Management & Client Relations: Cultivate strong and lasting relationships with enterprise customers, understanding their unique needs and regulatory challenges. Showcase how DATOMS" IoT platform can provide valuable insights, ensure compliance, and optimize asset performance. Successfully negotiate and finalize profitable agreements. Market Intelligence & Product Collaboration: Conduct thorough market research to identify industry trends, opportunities, and competitors within the industrial IoT sector. Collaborate with internal teams to shape effective go-to-market strategies and incorporate customer feedback into product development. Technical Consultation: Serve as a trusted technical advisor, effectively communicating complex industrial IoT and digital transformation concepts. Collaborate with internal technical teams to provide timely solutions to customer inquiries and ensure seamless implementation of solutions. Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of sales activities and forecasts using CRM tools. Facilitate stakeholder communications and ensure proper documentation of agreements and client interactions. What We're Looking For (Qualifications & Skills) Experience: - 7-10 years of progressive sales experience in industrial technical solutions - Minimum of 3 years selling IoT or digital transformation technologies to industrial clients - Demonstrated ability to exceed sales targets and manage sales cycles effectively Technical Acumen: - In-depth knowledge of IoT technologies and their applications in industrial settings - Strong technical proficiency in industrial instruments and solutions related to environmental compliance, energy management, and material handling - Familiarity with various data types and communication protocols such as RS-485, RS-232, Analog, 420mA, Modbus, CANBUS, TCP/IP for digital transformation - Understanding of networking concepts, client-server models, cloud terminologies, and machine-to-machine communication Education: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field - MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus Key Competencies: - Willingness and ability to travel extensively to meet clients and attend industry events - Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills - Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and analytical problem-solving abilities - Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and excel in a fast-paced sales environment - Proficient in Office Suite, CRM, and other sales tools This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of DATOMS in the industrial IoT sector.
