The Merchandiser will act as the key link between the customer and the production team, ensuring timely execution of orders from sample development to final shipment. This role involves product development, costing, sourcing, order tracking, and communication with buyers and internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and quality standards. Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Development & Sampling Coordinate with buyers for new product development and seasonal collections. Understand buyer requirements and translate them into production-ready samples. Work with design and production teams for timely sample submissions. Costing & Pricing Prepare cost sheets for products, considering fabric, trims, labor, and logistics. Negotiate prices with suppliers to meet target cost requirements. Order Execution & Coordination Plan and monitor the entire order cycle from sampling to dispatch. Ensure timely approvals for fabric, trims, samples, and packaging. Maintain regular communication with buyers, suppliers, and production teams. Quality & Compliance Ensure quality standards are met as per buyer specifications. Work closely with the QA team for inspections and quality approvals. Logistics & Documentation Coordinate with logistics for on-time shipments. Prepare and maintain all documentation for orders and shipments. Data Management & Reporting Maintain records of order status, approvals, and shipment schedules. Provide regular updates and reports to the management. Required Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Textile/Fashion Technology, Merchandising, or related field. 2–5 years of experience as a Merchandiser in the textile or apparel industry. Strong knowledge of fabrics, printing, dyeing, and garment construction. Proficiency in MS Excel, Tally/ERP, and email communication. Excellent communication, negotiation, and coordination skills. Ability to handle multiple orders and meet deadlines. Knowledge of export documentation will be an added advantage.
