We have been mandated by a large conglomerate for the below mentioned position. About Company : It's large conglomerate in to steel business. Position Name : Head - Projects - SMS ( Induction Furnace ) Location : Jamshedpur Qualification : Diploma/ B Tech - Mechanical Experience : Min. 18 years experience with Project management experience Purpose of the role : The Head Project Induction Furnace (Mechanical) is responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of induction furnace installation and commissioning projects. The role includes leadership of the mechanical engineering team, coordination with cross-functional departments, contractor/vendor management, and ensuring project delivery within defined scope, budget, timeline, and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Lead the mechanical design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of induction furnace projects. Develop and manage detailed project schedules and budgets. Coordinate with electrical, civil, and automation teams to ensure integrated project delivery. Conduct feasibility studies, technical evaluations, and risk assessments for proposed furnace installations. Select and liaise with vendors, suppliers, and contractors; negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with technical specifications. Ensure adherence to all relevant industry standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. Prepare and present periodic project reports to senior management. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to furnace design, layout, and operation. Drive continuous improvement and innovation in furnace installation practices. Lead a team of project engineers and mechanical technicians. Oversee documentation, drawings, BOQs, and approval processes.
