The Faculty of Medicine is seeking a Research Publication Specialist Officer to support in reporting on research publications from the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) and NIHR Clinical Research Facility (CRF). This part-time role of 21 hours per week is offered on a fixed-term basis until March 31, 2028. You will be based at the Faculty of Medicine Research Support Office at Southampton General Hospital, with the option for hybrid working after a probationary period. Working within a small team, you will play a key role in identifying research outputs for submission to the NIHR, the funding bodies for BRC and CRF. Key responsibilities include conducting eligibility checks on research publications, utilizing databases like Scopus, Web of Science, and OpenAlex for producing reports, providing guidance to academic staff on research publications, updating publication data in the University research information system, and suggesting enhancements to reporting processes using technology. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with abstracting and indexing databases, academic publishing practices, and funder guidelines. Strong data management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to engage with colleagues at all levels are essential for this role.
