Job Purpose: To identify, develop, and manage new business opportunities in Power Trading, carbon markets, and sustainability services. The role focuses on building partnerships, managing carbon credit projects, and expanding the Organisation footprint in voluntary and compliance carbon markets while driving revenue growth through innovative sustainability solutions. Key Responsibilities: 1. Business Development & Market Expansion Identify and pursue new business opportunities in Power trading, carbon credits, renewable energy certificates (RECs), and sustainability advisory. Develop strategies to expand participation in power trading and carbon offset markets (domestic and international). Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, corporates, project developers, and government agencies. Manage end-to-end client acquisition, proposals, and commercial negotiations. 2. Power Trading & Carbon Markets Monitor trends and pricing in global and Indian Power & carbon markets (e.g., IEX, UNFCCC, Verra, Gold Standard). Support clients in project registration, verification, and issuance of carbon credits under voluntary/compliance schemes. Liaise with trading desks and brokers to manage REC Power trading transactions & carbon credits. Evaluate carbon project pipelines (renewable, energy efficiency, waste management, etc.) for investment and trading potential. 3. Sustainability Solutions & Advisory Promote sustainability offerings such as Net-Zero Roadmaps, ESG Consulting, and GHG Accounting Work with technical and sustainability teams to design and deliver end-to-end decarbonization strategies. Help corporates meet sustainability goals through carbon offsets, renewable sourcing, and green certifications. 4. Policy, Compliance & Partnerships Stay abreast of national and global carbon policies (India Carbon Market, CERC, UNFCCC mechanisms). Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Energy Management, or Business Administration. 3–5 years of experience in business development, preferably in power trading, renewable energy, or carbon markets. Proven experience with carbon credit trading, REC management, or sustainability consulting. Strong understanding of global and Indian carbon frameworks (UNFCCC, Verra, Gold Standard, CERC, BEE, SEBI BRSR, etc.).
