Job Description

As a dedicated Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Bangalore, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all patients under your care. Your primary responsibilities include adhering to all safety measures related to patient care and self-protection, competently handling equipment and devices used in patient care, and reviewing doctors" notes and drug charts upon admission to take necessary actions. You will be expected to prepare nursing care plans, provide effective bedside nursing care, and ensure that all investigations are completed as advised by the doctor. Additionally, you will assist doctors during procedures, dressings, and rounds, while also ensuring that all equipment is functional and serviceable at all times. Maintaining infection control is crucial in the NICU, and you will be responsible for monitoring personal hygiene, patient hygiene, and environmental cleanliness. You must ensure that parents adhere to infection control protocols and oversee waste segregation and disposal in accordance with policy guidelines. Inventory management of drugs and consumables is also part of your duties, and you should strive to minimize wastage while ensuring proper stocking of patients" bedside lockers and medication trolleys. Implementing visitor policies and briefing visitors on safety measures and infection control requirements are essential to maintain a safe environment in the NICU. Your role will also involve monitoring pharmacy indents, checking received medications, and ensuring proper drug administration in accordance with the Drug Administration Policy. Possessing a thorough knowledge of gestational age assessment and specific challenges associated with different neonatal conditions is vital in providing optimal care to patients. In addition to assisting doctors in various procedures and interventions, you will also play a key role in educating and assisting mothers with breastfeeding. Reassuring and educating attendants on various aspects of care, including breastfeeding, supplemental feeding, safety measures, and medication effects, is an integral part of your responsibilities. With 7-10 years of experience and a qualification of GNM/B. Sc (Nursing), you are well-equipped to excel in this full-time Nursing role in the NICU. Your commitment to patient care, infection control, and safety measures will contribute significantly to the well-being of neonates under your supervision.,
