Role & responsibilities: Indigenous Chemicals and LPG: Send requests for quotation, invite quotes, consolidate & make a comparative statement. Observe the price trends of various raw materials Understand the market demand Negotiate various terms & conditions considering the trends & demand Develop purchase agreements with suppliers & manufacturers wherever feasible, within the allowed budget Issue purchase orders & follow up to get the material on time to avoid interruptions in the operations. Support to clear the payment related issues if any. Imported chemicals Issue purchase orders Monitor the arrival schedules Ensure the clearance of cargos without detention charges. Verify & forward the cha bills. Constantly seek new materials/vendors for economic benefits without detracting from quality requirements. Inform relevant information to other departments regarding changes in materials, delivery lead times & individual supply situations. Visit mills at regular intervals to understand the changing requirements. Periodical monitoring of various price trends, shares of business, consumption patterns, etc. Preferred candidate profile: COMPETENCIES Functional Chemistry or Chemical technology for understanding the suitability of the material Various price drivers Market trends & demand Behavioral Negotiation skills, Material Management Team building
