As a Sales & Import Manager - Finished Leather for our Textile company based in Erode, you will be responsible for overseeing all export sales of finished leather and managing imports of chemicals, raw hides, and wet blue. With at least 5+ years of experience in the industry, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining international buyer relationships, coordinating with production and quality control teams, and ensuring shipment readiness. Your key responsibilities will include preparing and managing all export documentation such as invoices, packing lists, Bills of Lading, and Letters of Credit. You will also be involved in sourcing and negotiating with overseas suppliers for chemicals, raw hides, and wet blue, while effectively managing documentation and coordination with freight forwarders, Custom House Agents (CHA), and customs. In this role, you will be required to work closely with the purchase team for demand planning and order tracking, as well as update and manage master Excel sheets for import/export tracking. Your proficiency in English communication, especially in emails, documentation, and calls, along with advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, costing sheets, and shipment trackers, will be essential for success in this position. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5-8 years of experience in leather export/import operations, a good understanding of international trade practices, and knowledge of relevant terms and policies such as Incoterms, customs regulations, DGFT guidelines, EXIM policy, and LC terms. Experience in dealing with international buyers and suppliers, as well as the ability to independently manage end-to-end shipments, will be highly valued. A graduate degree in International Business, Commerce, or Leather Technology is preferred, while an MBA would be a plus but not mandatory. Familiarity with Zoho Books or other ERP systems will also be advantageous.
