Role Summary: A Static Equipment Design Engineer is responsible for the design, selection, and specification of static equipment used in industrial facilities such as refineries, petrochemical plants, Green Energy, and other process industries. Static equipment includes pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, reactors,and Distillation Columns Key Responsibilities: Design and develop static equipment including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, columns, and reactors in compliance with international codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, TEMA, IS, PED). Prepare design calculations, data sheets, material specifications, and fabrication drawings. Conduct mechanical design and strength calculations using software such as PV Elite, NozzlePRO etc Review vendor drawings, datasheets, and ensure equipment meets project specifications and safety standards. Coordinate with process, piping, civil, and instrumentation teams for interface requirements. Participate in technical discussions and design review meetings with clients and vendors. Support procurement activities, including technical bid evaluations and vendor selection. Ensure compliance with project schedule, quality standards, and cost targets. Provide support during fabrication, inspection, testing, and site erection phases. Required Skills & Competencies: Proficient in international codes and standards (ASME Section VIII Div.1 & 2, API 650/620, TEMA, EN, etc.). Familiarity with industry-standard software (PV Elite, AutoCAD, ANSYS, etc.). Strong understanding of materials, welding, corrosion protection, and NDT techniques. Knowledge of thermal and mechanical design of heat exchangers. Good communication and coordination skills. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail. Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech). Experience Required: Typically 3–10 years of experience in design and engineering of static equipment in EPC, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power, or related industries.
