Illustrator / Character Designer (Freelance or Project-Based)

We are looking to hire an Illustrator/Character Designer for a freelance or project-based opportunity with our remote Gen Z + Wellness Brand. As an upcoming wellness and lifestyle brand with a focus on creating something bold, feminine, and community-driven, we are preparing for a high-impact launch and seeking a creative professional to collaborate on a special project. Your responsibilities will include designing playful and expressive illustrations that resonate with our brand's youthful, feel-good aesthetic. You will be tasked with crafting visuals that can be seamlessly integrated across digital and physical platforms, ranging from social media to product packaging. Additionally, you will be expected to develop a unique visual identity element that establishes an emotional connection with our Gen Z audience while closely collaborating with our core brand and marketing team to ensure creative alignment. The ideal candidate for this role will possess a portfolio showcasing soft, stylish, or character-driven illustrations and have prior experience working with Gen Z, feminine, or lifestyle brands. We are seeking an individual who enjoys creating designs that are lively, emotionally compelling, and relatable, and who is proficient in tools such as Procreate, Adobe Illustrator, or Clip Studio Paint. A sense of humor, sensitivity, and a talent for visual storytelling are highly valued qualities. Candidates with experience in wellness, self-care, or personal care brand projects will be given preference, as well as those who can illustrate cozy, plushy, or emotive characters. While not mandatory, familiarity with translating illustrations into packaging, merchandise, or social media assets is considered a definite advantage.
