You will be a part of the global Technical Communications team at Qualcomm India Private Limited, responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality technical product information for various Qualcomm products and customers. As an Illustrator, your primary role will involve producing engaging, impactful, and user-centered illustrations for technical content such as SDKs, APIs, Quick Starts, User Guides, and Videos. Your responsibilities will include: - Creating professional-quality illustrations based on provided draft content - Collaborating with engineers, writers, and subject matter experts to enhance technical documentation - Understanding user, developer, and OEM requirements to create suitable illustrations - Contributing to the transition from traditional PDF documentation to user-centric digital design practices - Identifying opportunities for automation and process improvements in technical illustration - Adhering to standard design elements and brand guidelines - Staying updated on industry standards, software tools, and market trends - Recommending suitable tools, best practices, and applications for technical illustrations - Maintaining a repository of technical illustration templates, samples, and standards Minimum Qualifications and Skills/Experience: - Minimum 8 years of experience as a Technical Illustrator - Strong understanding of illustration principles and techniques - Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Corel Graphics Suite, etc. - Experience with 2D and 3D animation graphics, photo editing, and image resizing - Ability to create interactive media and design for complex technical information - Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders - Adaptability, open to feedback, attention to detail, and quality consciousness - Excellent written and spoken English communication skills Preferred Qualifications/Good to have Skills: - Experience in creating illustrations for hardware designers and software developers - Familiarity with project management tools like JIRA and Confluence - Understanding of website development and programming languages like HTML and CSS - Knowledge of Artificial intelligence (AI) tools for automation and optimization of designs Educational Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Illustration, Visual Arts, Graphic Design, or equivalent (Masters a plus) Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer and provides accommodations for individuals with disabilities during the application/hiring process.
