Job Title : Engineer/Technical Officer (Industry 4.0/Manufacturing) Job Location : IIT Indore Key Responsibilities Hardware & System Design:· Assist in the development of PLC-based automation systems and electro-pneumatic setups. Interface sensors, actuators, controllers, and SMC machinery. Support circuit prototyping and embedded controller setup. Software & Control Systems: · Write scripts and logic for industrial control (ladder logic, Python, C/C++). · Support configuration of SCADA/HMI for monitoring and visualization. · Contribute to software modules for data acquisition and process optimization. Simulation & Modelling:· Use tools like MATLAB/Simulink or digital twin platforms to simulate manufacturing workflows. · Model control systems and validate against physical setups. · Perform system testing and help calibrate hardware models. Testing & Integration: · Conduct system-level tests for hardware and software integration. · Troubleshoot faults across mechanical, electrical, and software components. · Provide operational support and documentation for lab machines. Lab Coordination & Documentation: · Maintain technical records, wiring diagrams, SOPs, and compliance documents. · Support setup and demonstrations of automation experiments in the CoE. · Assist researchers and engineers with lab operations and project implementations. Key Skills required · Exposure to PLCs, SCADA/HMI, and industrial control systems. · Programming knowledge in C/C++, Python, or ladder logic. · Familiarity with microcontrollers (Arduino, STM32, Raspberry Pi). · Understanding of both hardware (sensors, actuators, circuits) and software (logic, data flow). · Proficiency in tools like MATLAB/Simulink, Proteus, KiCAD, or LabVIEW is a plus. · Excellent teamwork, organization, and documentation skills. Qualifications & Experience · Education: B.Tech/M.Tech/MSc or equivalent· Experience: 0–2 years (freshers with relevant internship or project experience are encouraged to apply).
