Job Title : Short Form Video Editor Department : Creative Unit Location : Chennai Employment Type : Full-time (Campaign Contract) Role Overview At Demos Project, we are seeking a creative and technically skilled Short Form Video Editor to join our content team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced political environment and has a passion for creating viral, engaging content across social media platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong mobile editing skills, an understanding of current meme culture, and the ability to deliver high-quality content under tight deadlines. Key Responsibilities Content Creation & Editing Create compelling short-form videos for social media platforms including Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and Twitter Edit raw footage into engaging political content with strong narratives and messaging Produce meme videos , political satire, and viral content that resonates with target audiences Design and create custom thumbnails for all video content Contribute to raw footage editing projects when required Technical Skills Proficient use of at least one of the following mobile editing applications: Premiere Pro, CapCut, InShot, IG Edits, Splice, or VN Optimize content for different social media platforms with appropriate aspect ratios and formats Add motion graphics, subtitles, transitions, and sound effects to enhance viewer engagement Ensure quick turnaround times while maintaining high quality standards Creative & Strategic Demonstrate strong meme sense and understanding of current internet culture and viral trends Stay updated with political developments and social media trends to create timely, relevant content Collaborate with content strategists and social media managers to align with campaign objectives Maintain brand consistency across all video content and ensure messaging aligns with political narratives Required Quali fi cations Experience & Skills Minimum 1-2 years of experience in video editing, preferably with political or social media content Demonstrated understanding of current meme culture and viral content trends Experience with short-form content creation for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts Strong sense of timing, storytelling, and visual composition Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Preferred Quali fi cations Experience working with political campaigns , consulting firms, or news organisations Knowledge of Indian politics and current affairs Basic understanding of graphic design principles Experience with live event coverage and real-time content creation Multilingual capabilities for regional content creation Key Competencies Creative Thinking: Ability to conceptualise and execute engaging visual content Time Management: Capable of working under tight deadlines in a fast-paced political environment Adaptability: Quick to adapt to changing political narratives and trending topics Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in political messaging and visual consistency Collaborative Spirit: Working effectively with content teams, strategists, and campaign managers Technical Proficiency: Staying updated with latest editing tools and social media features
