The Senior Analyst - SAM is responsible for the effective management, control, and protection of software assets within the organization throughout all stages of their lifecycle. This role ensures compliance with software licensing agreements, optimizes software usage, and helps reduce costs related to software procurement and maintenance. Key Responsibilities Maintain an accurate inventory of software assets. Track software usage and ensure compliance with licensing agreements. Manage software licenses, renewals, and agreements. Develop and implement SAM policies, procedures, and best practices. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with software licensing terms. Identify and mitigate risks associated with software non-compliance. Prepare and support for external software audits with the relevant data. Analyze software usage to identify cost-saving opportunities. Recommend software procurement strategies to optimize costs. Negotiate software licensing terms with vendors. Generate reports on software usage, compliance, and cost savings. Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis. Present findings to senior management and stakeholders. Collaboration and Support: Work with IT, procurement, and legal teams to manage software assets. Provide guidance and training to staff on software usage and compliance. Stay updated on industry trends, licensing changes, and new software solutions. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field Experience: 4-6 years of experience in software asset management Experience with SAM tools such as Flexera or Snow Software Experience on Microsoft, Oracle, Red Hat, VMware software product licensing Skills: Strong understanding of software licensing models and agreements.
