Ability to drive innovation for system improvements, determine architectural and design best practices, find automation opportunities and guide proper use of new features Monitors and refines processes, procedures, and systems to optimize effectiveness and/or integrity and recommends and/or implements improvements. Participate in defining architectural roadmaps for technology based on business needs and industry trends Apply corrective maintenance to mainframe system software on a regular basis. Modify mainframe system software, operational parameters, and system resource allocation on a regular basis Provide input on mainframe hardware and software contracts. Maintain the mainframe base systems to provide a platform for our programmers and users. Qualifications Minimum 8+ years experience as a DB2 system and database administrator IBM hardware and software. (Z/OS , CICS, z/OS DB2, RACF, Omegamon for DB2, Log Analyzer, Move for DB2, DB2 Admin Tool) IBM utilities, JCL, access methods and file structures Programming languages such as REXX and C-list SMP/E proficiency required for the MVS environment. Access and security administration DB2 monitoring software Preferred Qualification: 4+ years’ experience installing and managing IBM System Z (z/os). Provide 24x7 support. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are preferred. Possess both analytical and problem-solving skills are essential. The ability to work and build relations in a team environment is essential Good organization/prioritization skills Ability to work without supervision Have the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and still maintain quality work Excellent customer service skills are required Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and to apply judgment as well as knowledge is required. Ability to learn new skills and tasks quickly
