Job Description Maintain, manage and define standards within disk and tape storage environments Proactively monitor Disk/Take Storage and take action to prevent potential issues and to maximise performance. Maintain robustness of the configuration and to maintain and test the mainframe DR solution. Assist users with the analysis of storage related issues. Allocate and re-organize Datasets as required - dataset creation, deletion, recovery Generate reports on storage group utilization and storage growth To thoroughly document the environment and all activities performed. Storage administration such as initializing disks, re-organizing files. Volume initialization Storage group monitoring Updating SMS definitions System dataset changes Primary skills IBM Disk and Tape storage Mgmt SMS, CSM ICF Catalog Structure and Management Tape Management, Scratch Thresholds, Tapecopy Secondary skills Experience in a multi-CPU & Sysplex environment
