Roles and Responsibilities of an IB Maths Subject Matter Expert (1:1 Home Tuition) for 8th Standard 1. Curriculum Expertise Thorough knowledge of the IB Mathematics curriculum. Stay updated with changes in the IB syllabus, assessment patterns, and Internal Assessments (IA). Customize teaching methods for Standard Level (SL) or Higher Level (HL) as per students requirement. 2. Personalized Teaching Conduct one-on-one sessions tailored to the students learning style, strengths, and weaknesses. Create a customized study plan and timeline for course completion, revisions, and exam practice. Offer concept clarity, problem-solving strategies, and support in both coursework and exam preparation. 3. Assessment & Evaluation Conduct regular assessments , quizzes, and mock tests to track progress. Provide feedback reports to parents on the student’s development, challenges, and action plans. Prepare students for formative and summative assessments , IAs, and the final IB exam. 5. Motivation & Mentoring Help build the student’s confidence and interest in mathematics . Offer emotional support during high-stress academic periods. Train students in time management, critical thinking , and problem-solving strategies. 6. Professionalism Maintain punctuality, consistency, and discipline during scheduled sessions. Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding progress and scheduling. Follow ethical tutoring practices and maintain confidentiality.
