As a Governance and Compliance Support, your role involves providing full assistance to the Governance and Compliance function, encompassing various audit activities such as planning, internal audit, statutory and internal audit management, balance sheet reconciliation reviews, and any future applicable legislation. You will engage extensively with regional/hotel, BSC, IT management, and external auditors. Key Responsibilities: - Coordinating audits within the set timelines by the Director/Manager, Financial Governance. - Reviewing assigned account reconciliations to ensure compliance with IHG Global account reconciliation policy and completion within agreed timelines. - Conducting research and clearance to understand account activity for resolving reconciling items effectively. - Identifying reconciling items posing potential risks or opportunities and escalating for necessary actions. - Assisting in year-end and statutory audit across India BSC, involving collaboration with auditors, process teams, and the Manager/Director to meet deadlines. - Liaising with internal and external audit to update on project status and address any queries promptly. - Proactively identifying potential risks, opportunities, and efficiency areas for review and proposing improvement plans. - Developing a strong understanding of business strategy, hospitality industry, best practices, trends, and issues impacting the industry. - Creating regional tactical initiatives and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. - Documenting procedures to enhance process quality and efficiency continually. Qualifications Required: - Qualified/Semi-Qualified accountants (ACA, CIMA, CPA, CMA) or MBA with robust Accounting and process knowledge. Experience: - 3-4+ years of progressive experience in hotel or Corporate Accounting, Internal Audit, with proficiency in various related disciplines/processes. Technical Skills and Knowledge: - Proficiency in PeopleSoft or other E.R.P. systems. - Advanced skills in Microsoft Office. - Sound knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, IAS/IFRS, audit & control processes, and related procedures. - Effective verbal and written communication skills.
