Role & responsibilities Co-ordinate with the Rule Development department for development of Rules for Construction and Classification of Floating Nuclear Power Plants and nuclear-powered merchant ships considering Generation IV reactors. Develop, Nurture and Lead a team of engineers/ surveyors for approval of floating nuclear power plants and nuclear-powered merchant ships which are fitted with Small Modular Reactors and/or Micro-reactors. Provide guidance and training to Engineers/ Surveyors in the field of nuclear. Maintain effective liaison with Nuclear Licensing Authorities to demarcate scope of Classification requirements for a project as well as to interface for delivery of project as agreed during signing of contract Implementation and compliance checks of IAEA, National Regulations and Classification Rules to projects pertaining to land based nuclear power plants, floating nuclear power plants and nuclear-powered merchant ships (as relevant and applicable) Develop IRS business in the field of Floating Nuclear Power Plants and Nuclear-Powered Merchant Ships Participate (if nominated) by IRS within IMO, IACS Working Groups and other industry groups in the nuclear field. Ensure timely delivery of projects. Report to Senior Management as regards milestones achieved and milestones to be achieved. Preferred candidate profile Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in field of Design, Construction and Operation of Nuclear Power Plants. Graduate/ Postgraduate in Mechanical/ Marine/ Chemical/ Civil/ Electrical Engg. with specialisation in Nuclear Engineering. Candidates with experience in Generation IV Nuclear technologies such as Small Modular Reactors will be given preference. Knowledge of IAEA Regulations and Framework Knowledge of marine industry Experience of interaction and liaising with National Nuclear Regulatory Body(ies) Approval of fuels, systems and components associated with Nuclear Technology especially for Generation IV reactors including Small Modular Reactors and Micro-reactors. Candidates retired/ retiring from Indian Navy (in next 6 months) having experience in design, construction and operation of nuclear-powered submarines or candidates with suitable experience from BARC/ AERB/ NPCIL with experience in Generation IV reactors will be given preference. Strong background in nuclear engineering or a related field.
