Responsibilities: Prepare finite element models of Vehicle Chassis (Brake, Suspension Steering) components and subsystems. Apply basic loading and boundary conditions for structural, thermal and modal analysis of chassis parts especially brakes. Carry CAE Analysis and establishcorrelation of results with actual tests. Result interpretation and detailed analysis report preparation. Efficient execution of CAE activities for model development, Value Enhancement, Quality resolution projects at different product development stages. Participation in problems trouble shooting and after-analysis, proposing countermeasures and support in implementation. Supporting design team to generate evaluate weight cost reduction proposals. Support the team in improvement and generation of CAE methodology. Competency Requirements: (a) Technical/ Functional : Good knowledge of functioning and design of Chassis parts and subsystems especially brakes. Ability to perform virtual validation interpreting physical test conditions. Excellent knowledge of Noise and Vibration, Fatigue Theory of Elasticity. Candidate should have: Good Concept of FEA, Analysis of part level, sub system level and vehicle level Experience in using Pre / Solver / Post tools like Hypermesh, Hyperview, Estech Sequal, ABAQUS Experience in doing NVH analysis using Solver MSC Nastran . Desired: Experience on Brake parts NVH, Structural CAE. Suspension Steering CAE know-how is added advantage. Carry out Strength Durability analysis - Linear Non-Linear cases. Interpretation of results, comprehending failure modes and providing directions for countermeasures for meeting performance criteria. Documentation of results and communication with stakeholders - design, testing - for implementation of failure countermeasures. Interact with Testing teams for analyzing failures, correlation of CAE results with physical testing results and making improvements in CAE model. Support in generation and evaluation of Value Enhancement proposals. Competency Requirements: Technical / Functional: Strong fundamentals in Strength of Materials, Machine design, Fatigue. Role : Vehicle Crash CAE Simulation Evaluation Responsibilities: Prepare Full vehicle CAE models using HYPERMESH/ANSA/PRIMER - Mesh discretization, Assembly, Constraints Load setting - for automotive sub-systems and components. System and Full vehicle simulation using LS-Dyna software. Development of Vehicle Body and aggregates for Crash Occupant Safety using CAE. Model Optimization and Robustness using DiffCrash, ModeFrontier, LS-OPT. Interpretation of results in LS-PrePost/Hyperview/Hypergraph - comprehend failure modes and provide directions for countermeasures by performing parameter studies on the FEM model. Report preparation and communication with stakeholders - design, testing - for implementation of countermeasures. Interact with Testing teams for analyzing failures, correlation of CAE results with physical testing results and making improvements in CAE methodology. Competency Requirements Technical / Functional : Strong fundamentals in Strength of Materials, Theory of Elasticity / Plasticity. Good understanding of Automotive Body, Sheet metal Plastic part design. Knowledge of AIS Safety Regulations, NCAP protocols. Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis and experience of working in Automotive Crash Occupant Safety CAE domain - model building and carrying out System Level / Full vehicle simulations. Debug the CAE model for LS-Dyna environment, interpret the results, post process the deck. Experience in interpreting and understanding FEA results, post-processing and preparing comprehensive analysis reports with countermeasure proposals for meeting performance targets. Exposure to physical testing and ability to understand test conditions and its representation in CAE will be preferred.
