Work Experience Required Skills and Experience: Graduate/Post Graduate in Mechanical engineering or equivalent with 6 to 18 years of experience in finite element analysis (FEA) especially in turbomachinery domain. Strong fundamental in Finite element methods and solid mechanics. Experience in product design of turbomachinery i.e., Gas turbine, steam turbine will be preferred. Experience in performing static/dynamic, transient, linear and non-linear thermal and thermo-mechanical analysis of gas turbine static & rotating components (eg: blades, vanes, rotor, casings etc.,) using commercial software such as Ansys (Classic/Workbench), Abaqus and APDL. Experience in performing strength assessment as per ASME BPV Sec VIII Code. Experience in Rotor dynamics is an added advantage. Experience on Auto connector products (Plastic and Sheet Metal parts) is an added advantage. Correlation of Test and simulation data / results. Exposure to structured new product development process and stage gate frameworks to execute project activities from initial research development throughout the entire project development lifecycle. ROLE OBJECTIVE To perform FEA tasks and provide suitable design recommendations for design validation. Responsibilities: Validate concept designs using simulation techniques and determine design robustness, critical to function requirements. Deploy FEA Techniques implicit and explicit approach, using Software tools like Ansys Workbench, ANSYS Mechanical, LS-DYNA, Icepak, Hypermesh, Simufact, Digimat etc Translate actual problem to Finite Element Analysis (FEA) model, interpret analysis results and select best solution which includes linear & non-linear analysis under different physics. Monitor and evaluate simulation software capabilities and industry trends. Deploy standardized process and work methodology. Develop and train capability of the team to be a multi-skilled unit. Benchmark and implement productivity improvement methods. Monitor metrics for sustained performance covering quality & delivery. Collaborate with design & validation teams to enhance design optimization. Understand the influence/impact of recommendations on manufacturability and financials. Education and Qualifications: BE/ B.Tech (Mechanical/Electrical) M Tech (Mechanical/Electrical) (preferred) Knowledge of product, design processes and methodology. Proficiency in state-of-the-art o FEA- ANSYS WORKBENCH, LS-DYNA, HYPERMESH, SIMUFACT, MOLDEX3D, OPTISLANG, ICEPAK. o CAD tools- PTC Creo, ANSYS SpaceClaim. Proficiency in use of MS Office tools. Knowledge of associated manufacturing processes (molding, stamping, plating, & assembly). Knowledge about the additional manufacturing technologies: crimping, Ultrasonic welding, Laser welding technologies, soldering. Knowledge of Python programming language or similar CRITICAL EXPERIENCE 8-12 years of industry experience. Expertise in Ansys Workbench. Experience on connector or related products (Plastic and Sheet Metal parts). Knowledge on material science (Metals, Resins & hyper elastic material) and implement for simulation. Correlation of test and simulation data / results. Expertise on CAE tools, optimization techniques, and testing methods.
