As a Hydrogeologist / groundwater modeller at Arcadis, you will be responsible for leading and delivering complex groundwater and hydrogeology projects related to infrastructure and the environment. Your role will involve using prescribed methods for various data analysis and modelling assignments as part of groundwater and contaminant fate and transport modelling projects. A sound understanding of physical hydrogeology and hydrology is required, with a strong knowledge of chemical hydrogeology being an advantage. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage the hydrogeology aspects of Site Evaluation & Restoration (SER) projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. - Conduct comprehensive site investigations, including aquifer tests, soil and groundwater sampling, monitoring, and analysis. - Interpret and evaluate data to identify environmental risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies. - Develop and implement remediation strategies for contaminated sites, including remedial action plans, feasibility studies, and remediation system design. - Stay updated on environmental regulations and guidelines relevant to SER projects and ensure compliance with standards. - Build and maintain strong client relationships, understand their needs, and provide tailored solutions. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions and achieve project objectives. - Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, and contributing to the growth of the SER & SO practice. Qualifications & Experience: - Education: A master's degree in hydrogeology, water resource engineering, or environmental engineering (with a focus on groundwater modelling or hydrogeologic processes) is preferred. - Experience: Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in groundwater modelling, hydrogeology, and infrastructure and environmental services. - Expertise in groundwater control system design, groundwater modelling, and working with modelling programs such as FEFLOW, MODFLOW, MODPATH, MT3DMS, and PREEQC. - Familiarity with model processing software such as Groundwater Vistas and FEFLOW is required. - Experience with mathematical software such as Python and R. - Strong track record of successfully leading and delivering complex projects, managing budgets, resources, and client expectations. - Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - In-depth understanding of relevant environmental regulations and guidelines. - Professional certifications such as P.G. (Professional Geologist) or P.E. (Professional Engineer) are desirable. - Ability to lead and mentor teams while fostering a collaborative work environment and strong business development skills. Role Summary WSP is seeking a Hydrogeologist to join our large and growing technical support team in Bengaluru. The role involves working closely with our global Mining Team. The successful applicant will undertake specialized analyses and studies related to Hydrogeology for mining water projects. This work will be carried out under the direction of a global team of mining, and civil engineering professionals. The applicant will report to the Mining Team Leader as part of WSPs iCRC Global Mining Team. The goal is to deliver the highest standards of technical work, contributing to the ongoing success of the mining projects by supporting the client-focused delivery of projects. Close collaboration with WSPs mining leaders will be a key aspect of the role. Technical responsibilities will include conducting Hydrogeological studies, reviewing data, and preparing inputs for reports related to mine water projects. Responsibilities The successful applicant would be responsible for the following. Provide expert guidance and leadership in hydrogeological assessments and mine water management projects, ensuring high-quality technical deliverables and adherence to project objectives. Experience with a diverse range of groundwater modelling software and calibration utilities, with expertise in MODFLOW, Feflow preferred.
